YUM

A new page featuring Ashley. A great pic from my dad, taken when Ashley was about a year old (I think). Too cute!

Sophie

This is a page featuring Sophie, the daughter of my friend Monique. I played around with the image in Photoshop, trying to really make it look dreamy and make her eyes POP! I also loved making the pink page since most of my pages are for Deco/boys!

Just another deco memory

Waddle

Every year, the Michigan Basset Rescue hosts a "Waddle" parade where basset hound owners participate in a weekend of fun with their dogs designed to raise money for the rescue. Almost 1,000 bassets come from many states, there's a picnic one day and a parade the next day with a carnival at the end. It's a load of fun and it raises money for the bassets! This event introduced my husband and I to bassets almost ten years ago and we now have TWO bassets of our own! (rufus and daisy!)

funny story

So, I went to that Booth park in Birmingham again today (the one from the green lo in the last post) and the astro turf hill was CLOSED. Turns out that some kid broke their leg! oops! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted! :)

Thoughtful

Ok, well, this is the last page that I owe myself from Declan's first year! To explain, when I started digital scrapping, I decided that I couldn't go back and scrap EVERY photo I'd ever taken, but I wanted to at least have one page for every month of Declan's life and then I would scrap more regularly on a go-forward basis. SO, here's the page from August 2006. :)

Declan's FIRST birthday!

As Declan's birthday party is approaching...I figured I better make a page from his FIRST birthday party!

Ashley

It is a goal of mine to do at least one scrapbook page of each member of my family - and with such a big family, that's a big goal! Here's Ashley's page!

Quatro

Declan goes to Spanish on Saturdays with Brian so he can do a little counting in Spanish. He actually will switch from English to Spanish and back again while counting things. He seems to prefer Spanish but he has a hard time saying Quatro. It's adorable, especially because he doesn't have trouble with a lot of words but this one gets him every time! So cute!

Easter 2006

Here is the family at Easter last year...can't wait for those daffodils to come up!

Oak

This is a page of my grandma. I read this poem and it made me think of her. The collage was inspired by David Hockney

My Star

I had so much fun with this - lots of fun techniques! This is a picture of Declan playing with all of his beanie babies - I knew that collecting hundreds of beanie babies in the nineties would pay off!

Declan Saint Paddy's

I did this page for three reasons - # 1 Declan is so cute and it's his St Paddy's day picture solo, and #2 there was a challenge on a website using these colors and #3 Brian TOLD ME TO. Brian also told me to include the St Brigid's cross and he gave me the title. He gave me advice on cropping, etc etc etc! :) Brian likes to digital scrapbook too, I think! :)

Lunch with The Marias

We met Luz Maria and her daughter Sol Maria (and her husband Mark) through the Beaumont Hospital Parenting Group. Sol and Declan were born eight days apart! Brian affectionately calls them "The Marias". He likes nicknames! This beautiful picture was taken at Somerset where we met for a "playdate" for the kids and lunch at Nordstrom for the mommies!

Early Spring...

Journaling says : "One Sunday in March, we had some long-awatied nice weather and YOU wanted to go outside and (because you ARE in love with them) you wore your rainboots and I had to wear MY boots too. There were puddles so we stomped in them (oh JOY)! We got our first taste of spring AND all we can do is HOPE for more...soon!"
I used a technique called hidden journaling. The bold and highlighted words make up a little sentence - You Are My Joy And Hope.

Zoo and You

An inspired piece - literally...inspired by Rousseau's Dream painting. One of the scrapbook websites that I visit posts challenges to see what people can scrap using art as their major source of inspiration. It's actually really really fun! Here is the link to my "entry" in the challenge...http://www.scrapbookgraphics.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=7622&cat=3063

First Friends

These are a couple of the cute girls from Declan's playgroup. Macy and Declan share the same birthday and Sol was born a week later - what a coincidence? Hardly, our hospital "hooked" up the new parents who had babies within two weeks of each other and lived near one another. We've been hanging out with them since the kids were born!

Yum

In case anyone thinks that I have been hit with a tremendous burst of creative energy, think again - just posting just pages that I made before I had this lovely little website! :)

New mama

Sometimes being a new mama felt horrible, no sleep, hardly any showers, total confusion but SOMETIMES, being a new mama felt like the most wonderful, rewarding, thrilling, PERFECT thing on earth (and that is why man continues to propagate!). This pictures reflects the glow that you sometimes feel when you are a new mama...

This is one of my favorite pictures of myself. My dad took it at the lake and it looks like I am walking on the water. During family slideshows, this picture always created a nice buzz!

Potty

Declan is attempting to learn to use the potty. He's very good at going on the potty when I put him there but has not quite mastered the idea of telling BEFORE he has to go. Oh, well. At least he's still trying!

Bright Eyes

I took this picture a couple of days ago and had a lot of fun with it in Photoshop Elements. People are always commenting on how BLUE Declan's eyes are so it was fun to highlight those baby blues!

Mostly digital scrapbook pages for my friends and family...
