Balloon

Just some photos of Declan trying to get the balloon that was on the ceiling. Free balloon from the Coney Island, I think! So much entertainment in one balloon, and the thrill doesn't seem to end. Every single balloon is greeted with the same degree of excitement and delight! What fun!

Today's Son

QOTC Week 4

This is the last layout I posted for the QOTC contest - phew, I'm glad it's over! It was fun, but the deadlines were killing me! The theme was looking at yourself through the eyes of another person. I chose Declan (big surprise). Right now he views me as this sort-of magical, all-powerful being and that will change but it's kinda fun now!

Lucky Beach Boy

These pics of Declan on the beach at sunrise on Grand Cayman (dec 2005) are some of my favorite - especially since I was sleeping and didn't get to see it LIVE! ;)

My Heritage

Photo says Virginia Dwyer and friends, so my grandmother is in the pile somewhere and I'm pretty sure that one of the other girls is Aunt Hon. I've highlighted who I think is grandma and who I think is Aunt Hon - let me know if I'm right mom!

Queen of the Crop Week 3

The challenge was to focus on our every day life - the little things that you might take for granted or maybe don't think about all the time. This challenge made me think about the things I do daily and, since spring has sprung, one of my daily chores now includes weeding my garden! It's a big job but since my ds and I play outside during the day, I try to do a little each day. It is a pain but reminds me of how lucky I am to have this life that I love!

Journaling:
We bought the house for the garden. The one in my dreams. The house itself is modest, tiny actually, but the yard is immense. My husband toiled beside me to make a garden out of weeds & grass. We planned, tilled, dug, planted and of course, weeded until my dream became our dream. Now that dream is a reality. A beautiful garden filled with flowers, vegetables, fruit (& weeds)

My daily chore, A constant battle, A gentle reminder that my marriage and my dreams are thriving.

Somersault!

Declan practicing his somersaults in the back yard! He is soo close to having it, just a little more time and he'll be a somersault champ!

Jungle-ing

At Elaine's birthday party, Declan watched Sean and Alex juggle with fascination and intensity. He tried it a couple of times but ended up throwing the balls. Poor thing, he was so disappointed that he couldn't "Jungle like the big boys!"

Dance

Well, this week's Queen of the Crop challenge was about secret dreams, wishes, passions. I did my layout about a long ago dream of mine to become a ballerina in NYC. I gave up this dream a long time ago and I am VERY happy with my life but I do enjoy this little dream sometimes, it's a beautiful daydream and I'm glad it's mine!

Live in color

Photo of Brian and Declan at the park. Merrie - do you recognize this park? It's the park on Evergreen, I think! From last summer! It will be fun to take Declan there this spring, we haven't been there since October!

My Treasure

Learning to use Photoshop CS. Lesson one - text on a path. This layout (of my cutie) uses text in a circle and all around the edges. Super cool and fun!

We played in the garden almost all day. I tried to weed and you did your very best to keep me from weeding. We wend up and down the slide, on the swing, in the car, in the neighbor's yard and all the while you called, "Mama, I need you". Music to my ears...

Ashley and the dollhouse

This picture was taken last year at Elaine's First Communion party. Doesn't she look serious? Poor thing, she probably wasn't feeling well as this was right around her diganosis with diabetes. Was it before or after? Help me out Carlocks! :)

Queen of the Crop

Well, some people have wondered why I haven't posted a picture since Tuesday and the reason is that I've been working on a couple of layouts for a contest at www.scrapbookgraphics.com called Queen of the Crop. I'm not allowed to post my contest entries anywhere else on the web until they post them first. So today, the posted my first entry. It was based on the concept of introducing yourself, and the different roles you might play or different moods you have. Wooing the new Recruit

I took Declan up to my old office (Robert Half) last summer to meet the girls! They really rolled out the red carpet for him - lucky for him it was during a Hawaiian theme day - he got a flower lei, a beach ball and a water gun (not pictured)! :)

Going over to grandma's tonight to celebrate Elaine's birthday so I made her a card! Here it is!






Also - ordered my Canon Rebel XTi yesterday and it was shipped today! Hooray! Can't wait to start taking some really awesome pix! :)
