Here are a couple of new layouts from this week.

The First Taste of Pumpkin is actually an animated layout but to see the animation you will need to click here. It's pretty wild.

The square layout is for a challenge to scrap about what other people might think about you and how they are wrong. I'm not 100% satisfied with the result, but I just wanted to get it done and over with. I've been fiddling around with it too long.

Happy 45th Anniversary Merlin and Thorwald! (July 21, 2007)

Tomorrow is my parents' 45th wedding anniversary and this is the first year of joint retirement for them! My dad retired a while ago, but my mom retired this year, so they are beginning their "golden years!" They've already been on a trip to Yellowstone this summer and are starting to get in the groove of daily life together. Happy Anniversary mom & dad - we love you!

This one turned out soo stinkin cute! I love this photo of Declan and Macy on their playdate. They are sooo cute together! And these colors are my favorite together (the aqua and red). So, that's the 411. Enjoy!

Alaska Album

I know it may appear that the Alaska/Andrew album will never get done, but I finished two more pages today and that makes 17 total! I've completed layouts spanning seven of the thirteen days and am getting much quicker as I go. I've found my speed and comfort level with these photos I think! Anyway, I put together a slide show with all of the layouts so far - what do you think? :)

Secret Garden

Pics of Declan playing in the garden out back! It's so overgrown and crazy back there, but he has a little patch of dirt right in the middle that he digs in! It's really cute and he has a blast! (super messy, of course!)

Declan had a fantastic night tonight - Kathy and Gabby came over and then we had Luzmaria and Sol over for dinner! After dinner, Gabby and Declan ran through the sprinkler. Too cute!

Chaos

Best Friends

Let me tell you about my best friend ... that is the title of this layout. Brian took a look over my shoulder while I was putting this together and I asked him what he thought the title should be and he came up with that. How sweet is that?!?

Sunday afternoon

So, we all slept in today, D & I til 8 and B til 9!! Then we had a leisurely morning reading the paper and having breakfast. Around 10:30 we decided to go to the beach and rushed into action with a flurry! Bags were packed, bathing suits found and donned, a picnic prepared, a quick stop at the convenience store for supplies, another stop at the gas station, and we were OFF! Like a herd of turtles. We finally arrived at Kensington Beach at about 12:15. What a blast from the past. Neither B nor I had been there in at least 10 years. It was nice. We played in the lake, (seaweedy and stinky), built sand castles, had a picnic and took one last dip before we left at about 2:15. A fun family afternoon! Of course we took my new camera (despite serious reservations about sand and thievery). Here are some pics from today. None of me, of course, because I had on a bathing suit and I won't be posting any of THOSE anytime soon! hee hee Hope you are all enjoying this delightful Sunday afternoon.

Fun With Friends

A little layout featuring Declan and his friends from the parent group when we went strawberry picking a couple of weeks ago. They are so cute and all born within two weeks of each other!

On a different note, Brian and I are dealing with a huge mess in our basement and backyard. We finally bit the bullet and are getting our plumbing gutted and fixed so that we won't have any more problems in the basement when it rains. It is gross, and EXPENSIVE! We will have more plumbers over tomorrow - hooray.


And on a happy happy note, I GOT MY CAMERA today!!! Canon Digital Rebel XTI with the 17-85mm lens - fan-freakin-tastic!!!
