These are some fun pix of Declan, my dad and I playing with a Little People castle. It was my castle when I was a little girl and now is one of Deco's faves!
At Sol's birthday party Declan insisted that we bring the little kitchen outside. As soon as it was out, Joey wandered over so for a few minutes it was just Joey and Declan at the kitchen, but moments later, ALL the toddlers came over and they were all playing and sharing. It was hilarious!
This one is for Irene! Journaling says: "What is a mom to do? Poor Irene, Ashley wanted another cupcake at Declan's party, but she has diabetes, so her mom had to say no. Luckily, moments later, Stacy took Ashley to the park!" Lucky for all of us that Stacy is way better than cupcakes any day!
Declan got the night of his life on Tuesday when Brian went out of town and I invited myself over to my friend Monique's for pm play and dinner (thanks again Mo!). We ended up giving the kids a bath together and I snapped some pix in their PJs. Toddlers in sleepers are TOO CUTE! Declan had so much fun, I can only hope that he always has such good friends and such joie de vivre!
Most people know the sweet, adorable Declan. Every so often, Declan is grumpy, REALLY grumpy. I took his picture when he was grumpy to "document" this unique phase. :)
Before the big Easter freeze, my daffodils bloomed and Declan saw me cut some. I had a devil of a time with him after that picking all the flowers! Then the snow came and I caught a break. The other day we were in the backyard and it was warmish again and my daffodils were blooming again and Declan looked longingly at my yellow flowers and said "I haven't picked a flower in a WHILE..." so we let him pick one. (just one! :))
Rewind to Labor Day Weekend - Declan met Aunt Denny's cat Mabel. It was a brief but memorable meeting for the boy. We have been hearing about that cat ever since. Declan even named one of his stuffie cats Mabel. Fast Forward to Easter - meeting #2. Declan was even MORE enamored (how can THAT be possible?!?), Awww, first love!
I'm currently playing around with Photobucket as a way to showcase the Retirement scrapbook I did for mom. The below post is one attempt, but there is a limit to the number of photos. If you scroll down to the very very bottom of the blog, there is the whole book in a "remix" style. Let me know what you think! Mel
As many of you know, we traveled to Cleveland for Easter and although we were warned that it might snow, we were unprepared for the BLIZZARD that welcomed us. It was no April snow that met us for Easter, it was a good old-fashioned blizzard that dumped FEET of snow on us in a matter of a day. WOW - what a sight! And not a pleasant one. :) But looking back, it will make for a funny memory (we hope)
Well, Brian said I was getting lazy by not posting stories with the layouts, so here is a short story to go with this one. This picture was taken by my dad at the zoo in August last summer. It was soo hot and we were all tired but after riding the train back to the front of the zoo, my dad graciously and patiently took Declan and Ashley through the butterfly garden. I'm glad he did because he took some beautiful pictures and they make for a lovely memory.
This one is for you John! I played around with this picture of Sophie and Declan in Photoshop - I'm going to "finish" it later (to make it all pretty) as a scrapbook page but wanted to post it today!
